The FTEPA Switzerland - Japan enters into effect.
June 8, 2009:
The Swiss Council of States (Conseil des Etats / Ständerat / Consiglio
degli Stati) approved it (32 Yes to 0 No).
May 27, 2009:
The Japanese Lower House approved it.
May 25, 2009:
The Swiss National Council (Conseil national / Nationalrat / Consiglio
nazionale)) approved (179 Yes to 0 No).
Feb. 19,
2009: Switzerland's vice president Doris Leuthard, the head of
the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, met the Japanese Foreign
Minister
Hirofumi Nakasone and signed a bilateral Free
Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement FTEPA.
